Why celebrate Pascha?

The skeptic in me is asking why celebrate Pascha? I am talking about the "midnight mass" (Western term) in particular. I don't want run of the mill dogmatic answers. I want to hear from someone who has struggled with the same question.

I had a question about her genealogy chart and she just told me about her calculations. My hard drive died and I must try to have it retrieved, for it has her phone number on it, I failed to write it down in my phone book. It really wasn't that big a deal...
