The new calendar is Dec. 25, minus 13 days, makes it Dec. 12. St. Herman died before the calendar schism and should be celebrated on that original date (Dec. 12, which falls on Dec. 25 (n.c). Hence, the reason why Christmas falls on Jan 7...by the Julian calendar it IS Dec. 25.
