Re: Discussion and criticism of GOC-K & SiR Union

b1. There has never existed a heresy with the name of “Cyprianism,” and never did our Holy Synod officially employ this term. Re: Discussion and criticism of GOC-K & SiR Union

I should add that I continue to be hopeful about the resolution of this issue. I think that the clarifying document is in many respects a step in the right direction, and I hope that such steps continue to be made. Great charity is required of both sides at this moment. Re: Discussion and criticism of GOC-K & SiR Union

But clearly they dealt with him with the desire for repentance and not condemnation. Should we be hasty to condemn? And ultimately he did rescind particular aspects of his teaching, I believe in part from the influence of the current metropolitan Cyprian, who himself took a stricter view... No, we ...

Re: Discussion and criticism of GOC-K & SiR Union

I am saying we need to account for a persons disposition in fairness. What else could he do if he felt he was being treated unjustly? Also we need to be strict with our canonical methodology no? I do not believe that as a priest he could ordain, but he viewed himself as unjustly deposed and continu...

Re: Discussion and criticism of GOC-K & SiR Union

If for reasons of conscience he refused to accept his deposition and continued to function as a bishop and Uncanonically made other priests and bishops, they themselves could not be considered deposed until they were tried by a synod. His reasons of conscience were that he believed in a heresy and ...

Re: Discussion and criticism of GOC-K & SiR Union

And again, I understand canon 15, but the point is that he was deposed for schismatic all activity, he was not placed outside the Church by a synod. And an anathema does not Come into effect until it is synodically applied. You may think he was heretical and leave him on that basis, fine, but we ca...

Re: Discussion and criticism of GOC-K & SiR Union

You do realize that the Rudder clearly states that until Anathematization is put in place by a synod it is not effected. Are you admitting your synod never took the canonical steps necessary to implement ROCOR's anathema against ecumenism to Metropolitan Cyprian? Your thinking here is not quite cor...
