The perfect ANTI-Halloween anthem : "O Pure Virgin"

I like this by the Valaam Brethren Choir by far best of the recordings of the famous hymm.

That it was produced in 1998 by a homey, simple group singing in a heartfelt way rather than later when the MP got much more organized is more appealing in my estimation. It was recorded in Sts. Sergius and German Church, probably not far from the Saints' relics !

This version has deservedly received well over 2 MILLION views. It includes scenes of Valaam Monastery and its forested surroundings :

P.S. The choir leader, Hierodeacon Herman, presumably named for St German of Valaam, is the same one seen in the avatar of the poster of the video.

Re-recording of Agni Parthene 8 years ago by the same Valaam Monastery Choir in one of the Churches on Valaam.

Perhaps only one of the monastics is the same from the original 1998 recording i had posted above.

It seemed to me that though their chant was released then, it is, on a deeper level, to actually invoke the Queen of Heaven's help to obtain success for their country to overcome all the obstacles of THIS moment in time

The recording received 11 MILLION VIEWS, which is an incredible amount for any Orthodox video

It truly is sublime. I regularly listen the recording of them chanting the Psalter in High Slavonic. I don't understand anything other than "Lord Have Mercy," but I find it soothing.

Wonderful, Lemon Schist. Listening to these Valaam Brotherhood Choir recordings is incredibly good for one's soul. Yes they DO soothe at a very deep level, and thus removing the daily cares, worries etc.

I think it's very healthy to listen to them or even play them while you are gone which will purify the location for when you get bac. Not to mention, clean out your computer or whatever device on which u listen from all the toxins that accumulate from the internet [all the swearing, for example, on almost every site, every video etc. I'm glad we don't have ANY swearing on Euphrosynos Cafe, by the way !]

Do you have a link for the Psalter recording ?
The Church Slavonic is the BEST, it's irreplaceable.
