Liturgy

Post by Denis »

I remember reading a few years ago about the history of liturgy. I also remember reading that a very first description of the liturgy was written about 150 A.D. but, I can't remember by who. Anyone would have info on this topic?

Greetings Denis!

At about 155AD Justin Martyr discusses the eucharist and the liturgy in his First Apology (65-67). There are also hymns incoporated into the NT text, as even modern scholars have detected. Another document that might be helfpul, which was written some time in the First century, is the Didache (9-10, 14).

Thank you very much Justin. It is in fact what I was looking for.
