Questions on joining the ROCOR Church

Post by Mary Kissel »

For those participating on this forum who became ROCOR after having been in a different Orthodox jurisdiction, I was curious as to what in particular attracted you to ROCOR? What were your thoughts (or your reaction) the first time you attended a ROCOR Church?

One other quick question: how do you deal with the difference in calendar as far as when Christmas is celebrated? For instance, do you attend "Christmas" services with new calendar Orthodox and then go to the same services a couple weeks later?

God bless all of you.

In Christ,
MaryCecilia

The thing that attracts me to ROCOR is correct belief and practice. It is the place I think my family can best be raised in, having a conservative--but not frozen-in-time--mentality that seems to me to best capture the spirit of traditional Orthodoxy.
