Quite a few posts have been removed and transferred to the Mod Conference Room. One post from jdigrande disappeared due to a system glitch. It was not deleted but fortunately two copies (quotes above) are present in this thread.

If dissension continues, members can be banned as was khomes.

This thread is temporarily locked for mod review.

I did wonder is there a thread on the icon issue the one st mathew had received ?

Let me see if there is any information concerning the Icon that St. Matthew had in his cell.

I was told that St. Matthew was an iconographer.

No one has proved that images of the Father are a Latin innovation. All I see are baseless claims with no substantive proof.

Here is a photograph of the image of the vision of the protomartyr Stephen with Christ at the right hand of the Father, from the 9th century Greek manuscript at the Bibliothèque Nationale in Paris:

Greek Codex 923 fol 40r Bibliothèque nationale de France

the whole codex can be viewed here:

Here is a "Paternity" or "Fatherhood" image of the Trinity from the 11th century in a Greek manuscript of the Ladder of St. John Climacus, at the Vatican archives:

image of Christ praying towards the Father in a Miniature from the Monastery of Dionysiou on Mount Athos (codex 587), painted in Constantinople, circa 1059.
