I just post things I find interesting/edifying in hopes that others will find them interesting/edifying. There's no conspiracy- I'm not a mason or a plant sent from the ever-elusive evil (New)"World Orthodoxy". I just find the things I post to be interesting. Some have commented that they like these things...
Sept 11th remembrance at OCA webpage.
Nicholas,
Take this very topic here. Peter Hatala started a topic of an OCA link to a 9/11 commemoration and was immediately criticized for creating a link with the OCA/MP. It's not a rare occurrence, either. I am new to these boards, but I have found that there are some who simply will not pay any attention to anything that's not ROCOR, ROAC, the Holy Especial Greek Autonomous Church, or whatever.
It confuses me. I was baptized Greek Orthodox (GOA). Am I forever under condemnation because I was not baptized ROCOR? I now worship at an OCA parish -- does that make me a double heretic?
I don't read similar animosities going the other way, however. I respect a lot in the ROCOR -- indeed, I pray to St John Maximovitch - a ROCOR bishop who was viciously persecuted within his very own church - and he has made wonders in my life. I respect ROCOR institutions and well, and pray that someday I can visit his holy relics and the Holy Virgin Cathedral in San Francisco.
I don't understand the animosities. So what if Peter posted an OCA link? Get over it!
The anger always seems to run ROCOR against OCA/GOA/Antiochians -- the OCA/GOA/Antiochians rarely waste time "bashing" ROCOR and the like.

Bashing

To be fair, there are still many OCA/GOA, etc. who speak very poorly of ROCOR ("non-canonical", "semi-canonical" - whatever that means, etc., etc.) However, I have noticed that there's been an attitude change in this regard, towards a more positive appraisal - but I think it needs to be recognized that it wasn't this way for a long time.
