Mary Britnieva was a Russian emigre to England, though I believe she had English connections or relatives already, around the time
of the First World War.
[Even her surname seems to foreshadow her eventual move to Britain !]
She wrote 2 autobiographical accounts of her life there in the First Emigration of Russians, fleeing the Bolshevik takeover of Russia :
One Woman's Story
and
A Stranger in Your Midst
The second is only available at one library in the world. Neither is on Amazon right now. At least not at a reasonable price.
If anyone has seen these anywhere, they sound like forgotten jewels. Don't let them get donated to a garage sale !
