Re: Synod of the Patristic Calendar of the Church of Hellas
This week in Avlona, Archimandrite Nicolás of Ecuador and Archimandrite Elisseo of Colombia were consecrated as bishops, receiving the names Abraham and Panteleimon respectively. Many years!

Good names that the new Bishops received ! What day was it ?
And will you be going to Avlona yourself this year, have you decided, for your Met Angelos' namesday ?

Bp. Panteleimon was consecrated this morning. Bishop Abraham earlier in the week. I will be leaving next Saturday for Greece. After a day of ecclesiastical shopping and a day to visit Aegina and venerate the relics of St. a Nektarios, I will arrive in Avlona midweek.

That sounds like a great trip ! When you are at Aegina, maybe you could check into the manuscript of Agni Parthene which is supposed to be still lying on St Nektarios' desk. There are conflicting versions about who actually received that.
I would be interested to hear anything you pick up over there to clarify.
Have a WONDERFUL trip, and very safe, Fr Irineos. We will be glad to hear about it when you get back.
P.S. Enjoy lots of Feta Cheese / Greek Salads !

History of the GOC-A
Can anybody who's in this synod please tell me about their history? I rarely hear about them.

Here is a thread already devoted to the GOC-A.

I am merging these two threads.
