an interesting theory?

I posted this on the Russian page but I thought about it today and decided to post it in the english section too.....

(I'm not sure if this is the right spot....please move it if not.)

Not long ago I came across an old Judaic thought that stated that as long as there were 36 righteous people in the world God would not end the world.

This seemed like an awfully low number when compared to the number of people in the world (by the way the righteous people were not limited to jews...). Then I thought of the old testament story of Lot and thought...hmmmmm maybe it's not so low.

I'm not righteous...maybe self righteous with nothing to be self righteous about...to find 36 truly purified hearts doesn't seem that low to me.
