Two events occurred at Bryansk on what apparently is the Icon of the Joy of All Who Sorrow with Coins.
That indicates heavenly assistance from the many desert-dwellers who lived in the Bryansk forests in the early 1800s due to the repressive, anti-monastic policies of the Tsars at that time, who disliked the Church intensely.
These poor monks were forced to flee to an uncomfortable location, never knowing whether sheriffs would hunt them down at any moment.
In fact, from Elder Moses of Optina's memoirs, we know that at least one sheriff was out hunting the group of desert-dwellers which included the future Abbot of Optina.
But, Elder Moses, related, God confused the mind of that policeman so much that he rode his horse around in circles, thus never coming upon the monastics' hut.
So maybe on these modern occasions, St Moses and St Anthony of Optina, who were both patriotic during their lifetimes, along with any other holy elders who struggled in Bryansk 200 years ago have now stepped in from the other world to assist the Russian forces.
Russia News
"The Russian Defense Ministry reported that air defense systems shot down 24 Ukrainian drones overnight, including 13 over Bryansk, seven over Rostov, and two over Kaluga and Smolensk."
"Russia’s FSB has detained a citizen who planned to assassinate the director of a defense plant in Belgorod.
The suspect had contacted a banned pro-Ukrainian terrorist group and retrieved weapons and explosives dropped by a drone in Bryansk — but was caught red-handed."
The clip showed a case with a revolver being recovered, along with other dangerous items

A pro-Ukrainian twitter account "saintjavelin" wrote this with obvious intention
But we'll change that to...a more appropriate situation or situations :
Wishful thinking:
1923 – earthquake in Kamchatka
1924 – Lenin died
1952 – earthquake in Kamchatka
1953 – Stalin died
2006 – earthquake in Kamchatka
2007 – Yeltsin died

As a precursor to the Friday meeting of the two leaders, a quick explanation of history of why the Russian Empire sold Alaska to the U.S.A. for gold in 1867.
Lucrative sea otter population had declined
Tsar Alexander II wanted to use the funds to develop other areas of Russia, perhaps Siberia ? Instead of wasting it on a cash-drain place like Alaska
This is "Sasha Meets Russia" on twitter [X]. She looks a little tacky here in her top and trademark red lipstick. But Sasha makes many EXCELLENT points to set the record straight about Russia today in her series of videos.
Born to an American mother and a Russian father in Hong Kong [you emphasize the 2nd word rather than the 1st to be correct, ie Hong KONG], she faced a lot of bizarre prejudice from American school teachers and classmates. Eventually, she went to Russia to live.
Accused of being a Kremlin propagandist, it has been disclosed that Sasha received large amounts of money from RT.
But that could be to finance her trips around the far reaches of the former Russian Empire, new outfits every day for her videos, etc.
This doesn't bother me particularly, but her detractors are up in arms about that.
What Sasha says is usually very fair, and is eye-opening for people who have heard too much negativity in the Western media about Russia and Russians.
She is at least nominally Russian Orthodox, named for St Alexandra the wife of Diocletian, who was converted to Christianity from paganism by witnessing the miracles of St George. I have heard a handful of her clips, so i picked that up.
Thus here she mentions Liturgies in Slavonic in Russian Orthodox churches in Alaska [aren't they all OCA ones ? Anyone know if OCA parishes in AK DO have Slavonic services]

Re: Russia war
Clip of Putin addressing European states, warning them to drop their combativeness toward Russia [in essence]
I'm posting it because at 1:11, the Russian leader makes a smaller edition of the sign of the cross, saying "God forbid".
Also it's informative about the relative strengths of both sides, RF and Europe.
Putin think the US will NOT come to the EU's defense if a war breaks out.

Informative video about the close geography of the Russian Far East [Chukotka, remember MP Bp Diomed, I think his name was, who was exiled there for being too conservative ?] and Alaska.
Note the name of the two islands, too
