Psychics Speaking in false tongues to My Mom?

My Mom went to this British Psychic and asked her how her friend who had just died a few years ago was. Her friend was Orthodox but I have little knowledge of how devout she was. Anyways, the Psychic who as far as I know does not have any training in the now almost dead Macedonian language of Northern Greece, begain speaking in Macedonian as my Mom's dead friend, and telling my Mom that she was alright. To me it seems this was nothing more than a demon hoping to stop the prays for my Mom's dead friend. But what do you all think?

Andreas,

One of two things come immediately to mind. First, this person is - consciously or unconsciously - a fraud; or, second, someone demonically influenced. Either way, so-called psychics, mediums and the like are to be avoided according to the teaching of the Fathers............

Sadly, yes. Your mother should go to confession and ask for guidance regarding this episode.

I wish she would. But she's not a Christian. She's only into paganism. She pratices astrology, visits psychics, uses witch water. It's a sad case.

Okay, and she is also probably looking for comfort, one that psychics and the like appear to give - albeit an illusory one.

Then you can only pray for both women that they may be brought to a knowledge of the truth and true repentance...........

Just as a side note. My Mom was not the one to tell me about this. Her brother told me because he feels I'm so religious, and he wanted to know what was up with somebody being able to do that. However, he is able to see that it is demonic.
