I think in the theological sense we are all in agreement. Yes, but the request was to tame the indecency in which one gives there point of view. Free-will does not give the right to slander anyone. Discuss theology yes, call someone a homo, no, and to do it in the Holy Name of Orthodoxy, boarders on the un-pardonable, ROAC or not.

"lies"...
I think what is realized is that "lies" are a matter of subjective assessment on this thread. I could just as soon point out the "lies" on the part of the current ROCOR like "ROCOR prior to +Metropolitan Philaret did not teach ecumenism was error...the era of +Metropolitan Philaret represnted a break with the history of ROCOR...there are no binding anathemas on ecumenism and sergianism...+Archbishop John Maximovitch was not a saint.but a sick man...." All uttered by Fr. Komarovsky (Lebedeff) at one time or another AND UTTERLY OFFENSIVE--MORE OFFENSIVE THAN EXPLETIVES AND VULGARITY--AND FALSE, but dialogue is how we overcome FILTH like this, NEVER censorship!!!

Brother Nathaniel does not speak for ROAC. And if he goes too far he delegitimizes himself and strengthens your position. When an opponent offers rope for his own trip to the gallows take it, but don't burn books...

Even in the light of Anti-Uniya, what Brother Nathaniel is doing is still Anti-Orthodox. What ever you may feel about "Anti-Uniya" he is nevertheless mocking Orthodoxy, mocking everything we believe in as Orthodox Christians.....regardless of our stance in this whole messy "disagreement".
Since when have the Saints and Fathers of our Faith taught that slander, gossip, dissemination, dillusions, lies and inuendo were the weapons that an Orthodox Christian is to use to fight wrongs?
This is not Christian or Orthodox.....it is not what Christ taught us.

Dear Katya:
I agree with you on some points. I have already informed the other moderators and we will see like we solve these problems. I think we should allow the discrepancies here, but we must not allow verbosity and insult.

I don't think censorship solves anything. The good Brother as every right to think and believe as he wishes. I found it completely comical that a member of this forum dished out to him what he so freely dishes to us and he didn't like it. Called us all cowards. One would not have to dig long to find dirt on me, I can assure everyone of that. The fact of the matter is why should we have to in a Christian forum, I think is the point, not censorship.

I don't know which it is the situation of Br Nathaniel, but up to where I know, he is not in ROAC.
All clergyman of ROAC should have an Ukaz of the Holy Synod that enables him as such.
Christian Forums...
Actually, it's not whether or not we should have a Christian forum, but whether or not we can all get on the same page and promote traditional Orthodoxy and work toward evangelization...Censorship isn't going to get us there: what will result is the banality of an Indiana List--I'd prefer watching Fragglerock.

If we want to teach Christianity, let us behave as Christians. We are all sinners.
I was taken to task as a pious twaddler because the ECUSA openly consecrated an openly homosexual Bishop. He didn't hide it. They didn't hide it - they were rather proud of it. http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/ ... un.12.html
When I was a child, the ECUSA was pretty close to Orthodoxy in many respects. They even did away with the innovations to the Creed. But they made their choice to be "liberal" at all costs and look at where they have landed - Sodom. It is truly horrifying.
It could happen to Orthodox churches if left unabated. I am in SCOBA now, and the reason I went to this site because of an open invitation to a pan-religious service (all "faiths") read from the Pulpit of a SCOBA Church. It was mindboggling.
Now I am thinking, well, stay put and fight. And if fighting means being rude, and Brazen like brass (which is laity) then so be it. I'd rather be excommunicated and burn if that is possible, than see my children grow up in a spiritual swamp like the ECUSA became.
Choose Orthodoxy and Live!
