Have not read this book, but it is an interesting commentary on how far we have fallen:
At Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore MD when I was a child, there was a statue of Jesus and it made a big impression on a little child. Apparently, there are many stories associated with patients who entered the hospital - and the first thing you saw was this statue.
The interesting thing is, when the statue (concrete) was set, Jesus had his hands and head raised to heaven. That evening, there was a dense fog. In the morning, the head and hands were pointed down towards the door. They decided to leave the statue that way.
When I saw the statue again as an adult, it was small - just life sized. When I saw it as a child, I could have sworn it was 20 feet tall!
