Peace.
I also have "looooove(d)" making out- even when I felt guilty afterwards...... but can we agree that romantic kissing is sexual in nature and that we should at least be able to generally apply the principles of chastity to pre-marital kissing?
If so, three Scriptures that apply the principle of chastity without mentioning the specific of kissing that could be applied to the subject by serious Christians: It is GOOD for a man not to touch a woman.(1 Corinthians 7:1) Walk in the Spirit and you shall not fulfill the lusts of the flesh.(Galatians 5:16) Treat younger women as sisters, with absolute purity.(1 Timothy 5:2).......?
I hesitate to do the research to actually answer this question in-depth because, having done so several times in the past and supplied a dozen or more patristic quotes on any given subject, and being answered with something to the effect of:"Ah, yes, of course the Fathers said THAT, but it was due to their cultural conditioning. Of course, it doesn't apply today because we understand that BLAH, BLAH, BLAH, BLAH, BLAH......." Not that you would say that necessarily, Matthew, but this is what I have had to respond to more times than I can count- anyone else out there with a betterknowledge of the Scriptures/Canons regarding intimacy before marriage.
