Huge Sunspot 2192 is the largest sunspot in 25 years.
It has unleashed many X-class and M-class solar flares these past 10 days.
Now it is going around to the other side.
However, today, it has blasted us with multiple M-class solar flares with one going on right now at M3.5 and rising.

Earth is passing through a fast-moving stream of solar wind, and this is stirring auroras around the Arctic Circle bright enough to see through the glare of the nearly-full Moon. Tour guide Gunnar Hildonen sends this picture from Tromso, Norway:

Four more M-Flares have occurred since the last four occurred, and now an X1.6 class sun flare has exploded from Sunspot 2205:
X-FLARE! Active sunspot AR2205 erupted again on Nov. 7th (1726 UT) producing a potent X1-class solar flare and a CME. Extreme UV radiation from the flare ionized the upper layers of Earth's atmosphere, producing a short-lived HF radio blackout on the dayside of our planet. We do not yet know if the CME is Earth-directed. Stay tuned for updates.
