That photo in the first article is amazing. Imagine getting all your supplies this way ! I was just reading about Karoulia, a Russian Elder who lived there earlier in the last century. So these 2 posts are all the more immediate.

I can easily believe in those 7 or 10 hermits who roam around invisible to ordinary inhabitants or visitors to Mt Athos, who do nothing but pray for the world ! An intriguing account. Apparently, they pray around the clock for those in danger. That's a great service to humanity.
