Seaphim, see how the peacenick surrendered in the end. Must have been French.
Of course, because there's no arguing with fools. ...

Is this a good thing or bad thing? Is Bush justified?
I don't think that any war can be considered good or totally justified. I think that war, in even the "best" situations, can be a "lesser evil" at most. However, after doing some thinking, and paying closer attention to what has gone on in Iraq over the past decades, I would say that I now support Bush's decision, and think him not totally wrong (which is different than being "right") in what he is doing.
I think it's kinda scarey that the Iraqi soldiers are dressing up as American and Brittish soldiers and killing those who surrender. I hate when people get killed...good or bad.... but as I said in another post.... we voted for Bush... we should just let him do his job
praying for our troops over there
Mary, I'm also new here...
somehow am amazed at your post, and don't judge me right away.
We have no right to start anywars.
When you quote and state "God Bless our troops there"
is that not wrong?
Is this a Holy war?
Are we fighting for a Christian Stand?
Did you know that We have over 50 Orthodox Churches- Chapels in Iraq?
I'm not even counting the Catholics, Baptists, Evangelists.
We voted for Bush?
Even if Gore won, or anyone else, it's not them who run world plitics, they are there as puppets.
How could we do out Job? That is permit blood.
I think people are just blind to understand the truth ebhind this war. Iraq is not a threat. Saddam is. We went there for the chemical bio bombs. and to overthrow Saddam.
At the sametime, we are building a location for future needs. Unfortunately it's not for our Christian needs. Instead, look at it deeper.
And again, none of our Orthodox or Even catholic jurisdictions support the war.
And you state that we should, and God Bless them?
You've got it wrong!
forgive me if I have stepped on you. But you have to understand the facts better than they have propagandized to you as well as others.

I'm not Mary, but I'd like to respond anyway
somehow am amazed at your post, and don't judge me right away.
Please don't take anything I say as judging you or coming down hard on you! It's hard to "read" a person sometimes on a forum, because you can't see them. Please understand, though, that if ever I say anything that sounds harsh or combative, I don't mean it that way.
We have no right to start anywars.
Why not? Saints Thedosius, Constantine, Justinian, et al. started dozens and dozens of wars, killing innumerably more people than will die in this war. I'm not sure how one comes to the conclusion that a state does not have the right to start a war?
When you quote and state "God Bless our troops there" is that not wrong?
It souns like something we say in the liturgy every week a number of times. Have you ever read through the liturgies other than that of Saint John Chrysostom? Some of the liturgies are filled to the brim with prayers for the civil authorities and nation's armies. You should read through some of them sometimes (Liturgy's of Saint James, Saint Mark, etc.), it's very interesting.
Is this a Holy war?
There's only one holy war, and that's not a battle with flesh and blood
Are we fighting for a Christian Stand?
Absolutely. Which is odd since our nation is only nominally Christian, and Protestant at that. Even a broken clock is right twice a day though.
Did you know that We have over 50 Orthodox Churches- Chapels in Iraq? I'm not even counting the Catholics, Baptists, Evangelists.
I do now
We voted for Bush?
Bush was put into office according to the laws of the United States (even if some have a hard time understanding that this is not a democracy--thank God!--and that the majority are not always in control of what happens). In the end the system worked the way it was designed to work.
Even if Gore won, or anyone else, it's not them who run world plitics, they are there as puppets.
Puppets of whom?
I think people are just blind to understand the truth ebhind this war. Iraq is not a threat. Saddam is. We went there for the chemical bio bombs. and to overthrow Saddam.
That's what they've been saying for months now: who's misunderstanding? What you said is exactly what they've been stressing during the past week, that there problem isn't with the people or nation, but with the regime (ie. Saddam).
And again, none of our Orthodox or Even catholic jurisdictions support the war.
Actually, I've seen a few that supported it mentioned over at OC.net, though their names escape me at present. Nicholas, do you remember what ones have been mentioned?
You've got it wrong! forgive me if I have stepped on you. But you have to understand the facts better than they have propagandized to you as well as others.
I'm sure that Mary, in her wonderfully simple and child-like heart, understands these types of issues incalcuably more than we do, we who are so filled up with our knowledge and facts.
