Barbara, I am so sorry. I was going to post before Jonathan did, but didn't have the chance. My post was totally wrong. I was agitated and shouldn't have posted it. You didn't say anything that should cause such a reaction. Temptations occur at the beginning or end of Nativity and Pascha lent. I don't know if anyone else has experienced that. I was doing fine and then it all started falling apart. The beginning and ending of these periods are times when we should be most guarded and I dropped my guard at the end. Please forgive me. You didn't say anything wrong. I'm struggling to get through the weekend, due to family issues and hope for some relief for the Nativity feast. It's been a difficult lent. Please pray for me.

Joasia,
That's all right. We are all tense, I am sure, if nothing else, with the cold winter's weather.
Let's turn complete LOSS into GAIN by then remembering that the devil does apparently attack
at the two times you mentioned. I hadn't realized that, myself.
What is wrong ? Do you want to tell us anything? Maybe we can offer encouragement and support ?
Is the problem weekend the upcoming one, Jan 5-6 ?
Or it already WAS - this past weekend ?
Let us know, we will pray harder if some ordeal has not already been completed.

Barbara,
Thank you for accepting my apology but I'd rather not discuss my personal family issues. Suffice it to say that I have an RC family and it's difficult at these times. They will never understand my decision to be Orthodox.
Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. (Ps. 50)

Indeed, our unsaved and non-Orthodox families can be a very great temptation, and over the course of many years a great strain upon us. God help you to convert them, Joanna.

VERY TRUE to that part about the great strain over many YEARS
which Icxypion described aptly.
I guess we ALL are experiencing this OR HAVE experienced in the past.
Does it ever end ? Is there ever a happy resolution or at least, calm instead of all the
"drama" ??!

Come Lord Jesus!
Only in Heaven will their be no more crying, no more pain, but joy eternal.
Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me a sinner.

This is the meaning of bearing our Crosses. It's because of the season of the Nativity and during Great Lent, we will feel it bearing down on us again.
Thank you Icxypion for your understanding.
