There are several magnetic filaments on the sun which could explode, but look at this photo of our sun taken on August 30, 2015 at 6:50 AM PDT.

The massive structure is more than 30,000 km tall and 100,000 km wide. Planet Earth could fit through the central arch with room to spare. (Croquette, anyone?)

Prominences are plumes of hot plasma held aloft by magnetic fields on the sun. Typical prominences last a few days, until the underlying magnetic supports become unstable and collapse. This one has already been visible for several days, so a photogenic explosion could be in the offing.

Last night, it got really cold. Fall weather was finally here if only a peak of things to come.
This week, we will have an increase in temperature during the day and night.

The graph above shows that for the first time in several years, solar activity has dropped down into the A-Class, which is seen during solar minimums.

Earlier this morning around 2 AM PDT, the GOES X-ray flux graph dipped to the lowest, A5, that it has been in months or years.

This means that we in the process of dropping into a very low solar minimum right now.

This GOES-X ray flux graph shows that the sun has flatlined at A9 (red line) on Sept. 9, 2015:

A huge sun spot located on the far lower left limb of the sun is coming our way. Currently, it is unnumbered, and It is barely visible, but tomorrow we should see what this seething beast looks like.
