As for the name, I keep the link, mods and like the posters to be pan-traditional as I think the dialogue is helpful. I have no plans to make this a 1-jurisdiction Café ever again.

Joe,

I was unaware that Nicholas was changing the name of the website. As far as I know and my browser shows it is still the ECafe. It is not a ROAC dominated board even if the admin and one moderator are ROAC the stats on the site show that the most posters are either ROCOR or Unknown.

I do not see the need for slight attacks such as this as all it will do in the long run is cause division. This is a forum based off of the idea of mutual acceptance while discussing different topics as they relate to Traditional Orthodoxy.

I do not see this attack as warranted on the grounds that even as you are seartching for the Faithyou find yourself in the ROCOR. As I said this is where the majority of the posters are coming from. You are not among enemies here Joe, you are in the company of friends.

Turn thy face away from my sins and blot out all my transgressions,

as for the ROACcafe comment I should not have said it and I apologize. I will say however that many whom I have talked to see it heading in that direction.

I will accept as truth the words of our admin that it will not. It would do not good either for the forum or those therein.

The opinions of those who are not of the knowledge nor the ability ot make such changes have no influence on me.

I rely on the word of our Moderators and our Admin. For without that where are we truly?

I would also like to state that I am not reffering here to the decisions of our Moderator that effect his life, I am soley reffering to the decisions he makes within the "ECafe Official Synod" regarding the health and well being of this our beloved ECafe.

Cast not Thy Face From me,

Juvenaly

HOCNA

Leave Olga alone. If you had to listen to Gregory Lourie the rest of your life, you would think HOCNA is canonical as well.

Birds of a feather you know....

Mr. Zollars

I do see what you say however. But one must also consider that your website, the ROACCafe, and her's as well as any others run by ROAC people reflect back upon the ROAC.

My wife and I are ROCOR Christians. If we went anywhere, it'd be GOC, and if it happens that's many moons away. My wife and I have never talked on the phone or met Bp. Gregory or any ROAC priest. The emails and posts that I have exchanged with ROAC priests and lay people have, for the most part, been far from happy and supportive in tone. One ROAC priest, one ROAC matushka, and the person who was at one time the ROAC person who posted the most on the Cafe have all disappeared from the scene: we are far from saturated by a ROAC presence. I think, with these departures in mind, the apparent "move" towards ROAC is put in perspective. You also have left ROAC yourself, Joe, so what does that really leave us now? Of the 267 registered members of this forum, and of the probably 2 or 3 dozen who post on a weekly basis, about 3 members are ROAC. So much for the invasion :) When this becomes a ROAC forum I'll be leaving (or more accurately, lurking and not posting). But that time is not now, and it won't be any time soon.

PS. If I have offended you, I apologize. There have been talk of this Cafe being (or becoming) a ROAC forum since at least December though, and probably longer (as I'm normally the last to hear about things). I believe that it will only become such if enough people falsely believe it to be such. Sort of a self-fulfilling prophecy. If you think it'd be bad for the forum to be a ROAC only forum, then please stay on and post some edifying stuff from a non-ROAC perspective. :)

I thought this comment was interesting.

Several dosen monks live there, and their life is very serious, both is general routine and especially in the details, those many details that cannot be imitated. (I wrote several of them here, but then I decided not to uncover them, they are unusual and sometimes crazy for the world, but unavoidable in serious monasticism)[emphasis mine].

The daily routine in the monastery is very wise. Actually, there were so many things that really impressed me there, but I just cannot write them here. I can say only that I have not seen such a serious approach neither in Jordanville nor in many Russian monasteries where I had been.
