ROCOR will never be absorbed into the OCA; what will happen if these Churches enter into full Communion is each will still have its own hierarchy and legally they will still be two seperate Churches; the difference will be simply that these two Churches will be in Communion and their clergy will concelebrate. It will be a long time before the other Jurisdictions meet ROCOR's criteria for union; when they do it will essentially be up to the Holy Synod what actions will be taken, but we have a long time before all of this happens; the talks between ROCOR and the MP are still very sensitive - there is still a dis-trust of MP hierarchy and still too much evidence of the MP talking out both sides of its mouth.

In Christ,

I agree, now is not the time to get high on ecumenism. One day ROCOR and the MP will be one I am sure but we must wait for the MP to shape up first. For it is wrong to rush to unity without ironing out big problems.

Wow! This all sounds so much like the Orthodox Church and the Roman Catholics, except its been going on for over a millenium. You could almost replace the phrase with these words: "One day the Orthodox Church and the Roman Church will be one I am sure but we must wait for the pope to shape up first. For it is wrong to rush to unity without ironing out big problems." Let's pray it just doesn't take as long, if never!

"Why is our existence disturbing to those who call us "a tiny handful of schismatics?" Saint Mark of Ephesus demonstrated that the Truth is not measured by the number of ruling hierarchs. All of Orthodoxy can be defended by a single, solitary "schismatic." The holy apostles, the holy fathers and teachers of the Church, the holy martyrs, call upon us, for the sake of Truth, to withdraw from falsehood, from the imminent kingdom of the Antichrist, and to struggle in love for Christ, that we may be written "in the Book of Life of the Lamb, Who was slain from the foundation of the world. If any man have an ear, let him hear."
