The Blasphemy Of Megami Tensei

The resting place of threads that were very valid in 2004, but not so much in 2024. Basically this is a giant historical archive.

A series name that translates to "Goddess Reincarnation"(Megami = goddess, tensei = reincarnation) is probably not going to have Christian-compatible content.

Funnily enough, the Japanese name for the Statue of Liberty is "Jiyuu no Megami Zou", ie, "Statue of the Freedom Goddess". At least the Japanese know paganism when they see it!

Yes exactly!

Isn't that "The Fountain of Immortality" in English, that Valaam chant ? I like the Slavonic version SO MUCH BETTER. But this is spiritually invigorating anyway.
I hadn't seen this adaptation with the pictures added.
Who are the 3 figures by the way ?

Agree : every such thing [I don't even like to speak the words v. game !!] is completely demonic. Try to discourage everyone you know from participating or letting their children get involved with such. It's well known that they are addictive, so once the kid starts, it can be a slippery slope downhill.

I find it weird how Americans consider it a symbol of their nation. French masons gave them a pagan idol--literally just a statue of a Roman goddess--and for some reason this must define them?

Oh, sorry, I forgot. Someone added a poem about infinity immigration so that makes it good.

In this day and age we really need to stop allowing ourselves to be bamboozled into idolatry with nonsense about how it's okay when you don't mean it.

Ancient pagans didn't even believe in their gods for the most part. (At least not later on.) Neopagans today don't believe in their gods. They just do the rituals because they hat Christianity and saw that atheism doesn't work. Real, old-school pagans today don't believe in their gods either. Not here in Africa, not in Japan. They just do their rituals because it's part of their culture or sometimes “in case it works.” And very commonly, out of fear of black magic.

For no reason the media have convinced Christians that it's okay to have Buddhas and other idols in the house just because they don't bow before 'em. They've convinced people that it's okay to consult horoscopes if they don't believe in them, or sometimes even if they do. They've convinced people that it's okay to go through motions to conjure spirits if it's a game and therefore we don't believe in it.

It's protestant. If external forms don't matter, you can do anything and it only matters how you personally feel on the inside. Christians do not believe this. The saints would die rather than give a pinch of incense to an idol nobody believed in--not even the people trying to compel them--when explicitly told they can believe anything they want and even continue to worship Christ.

And for that reason, we need to be exceedingly careful today. If you're involved in something like playing D&D, time to find a better pastime like fishing or playing an instrument

a sinner, but not a heretic

You know, the Statue of Liberty is SO UGLY ! One can be SURE it came from some kind of Masonic mindset.

The sculptor was Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi :

"[He] visited Egypt in 1855 and expressed his admiration for the colossal statues on the facade of the temple at Abu Simbel.
He resolved to work on a monumental scale, and in 1867, Bartholdi proposed
that the Egyptian government build a giant statue and light beacon in the
form of a woman holding a torch aloft to be erected at the entrance of the
Suez Canal. Entitled “Egypt (or Progress) Carrying the Light to Asia,” it was to
symbolize industrial and social progress in Egypt. The Suez statue was never
built, and the project was later reconfigured as a gift from France to the United
States to celebrate the centennial of American independence (dedicated in
New York, 1886)"

Here is what "Egypt Carrying the Light to Asia" was sketched by Bartholdi to be. At the bottom of the statue would have been an inscription "Egypt Beacon of Asia"

Image

But the Khedive, the Egyptian ruler for the Ottoman Empire, Said Pasha, felt the project would cost too much after all the massive expenditures for the construction of the Suez Canal. He turned down the idea of having the monument at Port Said, instead allowing a lighthouse to be built there.

Image

That's when Bartholdi got word that the American independence anniversary would be coming up and a joint French-American effort would be welcome to commemorate the occasion.

Hardly anybody knows about this history !

The Statue of Liberty still retained the heavy solidity of Bartholdi's models, which were the lost Colossus of Rhodes, a statue of the Greek god Helios at the entrance to Rhodes' harbor, and a solar crown worn by the Egyptian Ptolemaic Dynasty, Ptolemy I having been a prominent general of Alexander the Great.

That's why the crown of the Statue of Liberty captures so much attention.
In fact, the rest of it is so masculine looking, especially the face, which is believed to have been modeled after Bartholdi's BROTHER, Charles - not the sculptor's mother !
Which explains the rough features.

One would say that there is next to no resemblance to any Roman goddess, for sculptures of these were invariably feminine and graceful.

Whereas the Statue of Liberty is downright clunky ! I have always disliked it.

I wish it could be pawned off on some other country and replaced with something tasteful instead !!!
