Your reaction is totally understandable and the logical result of when someone makes Orthodoxy what he wants it to be and then gets let down because it doesn't fit his idol of what it "should" be.

Please note that I do not subscribe to "Old Calendar Ecumenism" and believe that only the Synod of Archbishop Kallinikos is the canonical GOC of Greece. I do believe, however, that we can break down barriers and misunderstandings through prayer and discussion on forums such as this one.
"Any thing that comes from the OCA is lip service. While I was in boot camp the OCA Priest communed a Coptic Monophysite every sunday during our 2nd month of boot camp. He said he had permission from the Greek Orthodoxo Patriarchate of Alexandria to do so since the OCA and the Monophysites are "in communion" with each other.
How sad, I really am starting to wonder about the Orthodox Church today."
I am glad that someone else here is speaking up about witnessing this...I am surprised that no one is calling him a liar about this as we have done here in the past....I have observed the same thing in a church under Archbishop Dmitri....just another reason why I won't have anything to do with the OCA
Natasha,
If it were anyone but him doing it, I am sure no one would mind. But everyone told him this goes on, he denied it, and now is surprised that SHOCK it does! And now he doubts Orthodoxy's state.

How do you know that Tom didn't serve in the military as well? I am not sure if he did but he could have. And Tom is very well travelled.

Interesting. When I was travelling in the South recently, I asked the priest at an OCA church I was planning to visit if I could receive Communion. He asked the very same Abp. Dmitri, and the latter refused.
