MODERATION: The personal attacks are forbidden

The resting place of threads that were very valid in 2004, but not so much in 2024. Basically this is a giant historical archive.

I certainly hope this rule against personal attacks includes people in HOCNA, particularly our hierarchs and spiritual leaders. We're the only Old Calendarist group with any real presence in the United States, yet Old Calendarist and Ecumenist alike can't seem to stifle the uncontrollable urge to jump on the libel bandwagon perpetrated by ROCOR.

There in fact are. We have a parish in Pomona, a mission in Bakersfield, and a parish attached to St. Gregory of Sinai Monastery north of San Francisco.
As far as neighboring states go, there are parishes in Portland, OR, Jordan, UT, and a mission parish near Tucson, AZ.
Please research before you make statements like this. Again, I realize HOCNA bashing is a knee-jerk pandemic. The only reason I made my original post in the first place is because even certain individuals who run this forum were calling my church a "cult" several months ago in one of the threads. I bear no malice against them. Many in the Church have believed this slander. As I believe neither individual has any direct experience of HOCNA or our leaders, I would guess they're getting their information from certain unstable priests who are no longer with ROAC and no longer have bishops at all.
My entire point is that I hope this new rule is appllied across the board and includes people in my jurisdiction.

Unfortunately, I'm still not able to see this map, as all I see is a big blank space under MAP and the key to the various jurisdictions beneath. Since I don't have a lot of computer savvy, I don't know what to do to correct this. However, from reading the key below, I see that HOCNA isn't even represented. If you represented those Orthodox who remained loyal to Blessed Abp. Afksentios to the very end, and compared them to each of the jurisdictions represented on your map, you would still find that HOCNA has the most parishes in North America.
Of course might doesn't make right, but when we had to leave ROCOR in 1986 (for the very same reasons that are now unfolding before our very eyes), a full tenth of the ROCOR clergy left with us. This is why we have such a presense here.

To Spiridon: God forgives. Forgive me, a sinner.
