On decembar 25th. the serbian delegation of three members will go to the Council of the RTOC in Odessa, Ukraine.
Our hieromonk Acacius is painting the icon of the st. PHILARET, which will be used in the canonisation of the saint.
We have been informed that maybe it will occur the first concelebration of GOC and RTOC.

It is really sad that the TOC largest jurisdiction in Russia (FROC/ROAC) has not been invited this Sobor, and neither it has been invited ROCOR Vladimir-Anastasy. More even, keeping in mind that "the father" of RTOC, Archbishop Lazar (Zhurbenko) has been founder of FROC/ROAC. It is also strange that RTOC presents this sobor as "the first one in the Homeland from 1917-1918", because there was already other (of the Catacomb Church 1928?) and of FROC/ROAC where the same Vl. Lazar participated.

Sorry but the RTOC Sobor begins on October 25, not on December 25.

There are two sides to a story. Archbishop Thikon has been accused of some things, but the whole story is not told. For example, he has reached out on certain occasions, but was ignored. We need to understand the whole situation in order to make sense of what is happening.

Joanna

Dear Joanna

Yes, it seems , some disturbing things are happening in RTOC, two bishops, Vl. Dionisy (Alferov) and Vl. Iriney (Klipenshtein) are very upset with the RTOC direction and each one of them have written their own "open letter" to Archbishop Tikhon.

I don't know very much about what is happening in RTOC, but it seems these two bishops (the RTOC bishops are six) didn't attend to, neither they will attend to the RTOC Sobor. I think that there have been "two minds" in RTOC, a "moderate" or kyprianite ( which these two bishops and other important RTOC people represent) and a correct one (which is represented by Vl. Tikhon, Vl Stefan et al) it seem (and fortunately) this last mind is the one which is triumphing in RTOC.

Sabor RTOC in Odessa

Our delegation of the STOC (Serbian True Orthodox Chrurch), took part, as a guest, on the Council of the RTOC in Odessa, in October, 2008. F. Acacius shared with us the most beautiful effects from the Council, and about moving the RTOC on more strict positions of the confession of the faith and the way of the receiving the clergy from the official Church. The talks with the Bishop Tikhon were very useful and from all that it is possible to see that in the future the collaboration between RTOC and STOC will be very good.
