You're not leaving are you, Cyprian ?!
You're AMAZING ! It's truly incredible all the connections !!!
Nobody on the planet could be "bored" ! This is riveting.
I was going to add about Faye Dunaway that her last name sounds "Done Away with" - so THAT WOULD FIT with the Diana scenario. She is the only actor or actress of whom I've ever heard that you have mentioned, at least recently. I think she was in The 3 Musketeers a long time ago - you would know better, though.
We must do a separate thread on the House of Hesse. I was researching them a few months ago, planned to write on here about the 4 sisters, including Alix, but so many other topics intervened.
Yes, I've always known about that name switch from Battenberg [which YES, was only a morganatic branch, LESS important of the House of Hesse-Darmstadt] to Mountbatten - to the bland sounding "Windsor" to calm all the anti-German sentiment in England in the leadup to World War I. It's now forgotten, but there was intense anti-German feeling in that era.
Ridiculous because Willy, Kaiser Wilhelm, was the son of Vicky, Queen Victoria's eldest daughter, after all. So he was half-English.
There were many other interconnections too.
Well, you really surpassed yourself today, Cyprian !
Bon Appetit !
