hecklers...

Post by Kollyvas »

Nor is it a place for those who are ersatz in their convictions to attack without premise. Refrain from heckling threads, please. Create your own saying whatever you like.

Please keep displaying MP News. I suppose some here would rather it not be posted as it dispels any idea of the MP they have grown comfortable with.

overstated...

Post by Kollyvas »

Actually, one heckler does not make "some." Plenty of ROCiE et al people find MP reports informative and they filter them in their own ways. And I am not uncritical either of my Bishops, as you yourself know, Mr. Edward. I think I'm going to simply begin ignoring criticism without substance coming from certain places in future, for it has no credibility, and I would advise everyone else to do the same.

Ryazan Kremlin Petitioned For Return To Church

World Russian People’s Council/Ryazan asks for handing the Ryazan Kremlin over to the Russian Orthodox Church

The World Russian People’s Council/Ryazan has circulated an open letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin concerning the need to put the Ryazan Kremlin compound under the jurisdiction of the Russian Orthodox Church.

The letter states in particular that ‘the Museum directors maintain that through their efforts the Kremlin is flourishing, but few know that the six Orthodox churches in the Ryazan Kremlin have remained defiled. People’s access to five of the six churches is simply impossible.’

The authors of the letter assure the president that after the Kremlin is handed over to the Church, it will be open for all those who wish to familiarize themselves with the history and culture of Ryazan and express conviction that the Kremlin should be ‘an Orthodox center and a spiritual home for the Ryazan people’.

MP Opens Human Rights Center

Church to Open a Rights Center
The Moscow Times

The Russian Orthodox Church said Thursday that it would open a human rights center in an attempt to better reflect the values of most Russians.

"A mistake by many rights activists today is that their activities do not correspond with the opinions and values of a majority of our people," said Metropolitan Kirill, head of the foreign relations department of the Moscow Patriarchate.

Kirill, speaking at a news conference, also expressed surprise that Cardinal Walter Kasper, head of the Vatican's Council for Christian Unity, had suggested on Monday that a papal visit to Russia was looking increasingly likely. "This topic has not been considered, nor has it even been proposed," he said. He noted, however, that dialogue with the Roman Catholic Church "has intensified" since Pope Benedict XIV was elected last year.

Also, Kirill criticized a recent U.S. State Department report that criticized religious tolerance in Russia while praising Afghanistan for its religious freedom.
