Moronikos:
I was born into a family that was loosily affiliated with a SBC (Southern Baptist Convention for those who don't know) but which later went to an "Independent Bible" Church which was for all intents and purposes the same, but with some differences.
In my teen years I gave up on Christianity because all I knew was the protestant fundamentalist perversion thereof. I went through the american "buddhists," a wicca-like group, and a few other occult groups.
In my later teen years I became a Romanist (of the conservative NO variety) under a cleric who was already a romanist cleric with his own parish during WWII. He was the stripe of romanist who may very well have slept in his cassock. When he retired I moved up here to Kansas.
I remained with the NO group for about 1 more year. I in this time discovered other people who, unlike the vast majority of others in the novus ordo parishes I attended, actually believed the teachings of the papist sect, particularly in the area of morality. These people were a mix of Indultees, SSPXers (out of St. Mary's KS), and even one very nice SSPV family not to mention some very nice families that assisted at independent chapels. I came to love the Latin Mass through these people, but it was not just hte Mass I loved because I was the type of traditionalist that wasn't one for the ascetics of hte chant, latin, etc. I was a traditionalist on moral and theological reasons.
I began to assist at all these chapels, but had growing Sedevacantist tendincies and these were nurtured by readings from other sedevacantists to the point I became an outright sedevacantist.
Now there are many other issues regarding the variosus phapses of my spiritual life thusfar but I see no point in dredging them all up.
Now I will say in Juvenaly's defense, I was turned away from the Novus Ordites for a very similar reason. I had an interview with the novus ordo "bishop" of Wichita at that time. somehow in the interview the subject of liturgical abuses came up and he asked me what my opinion was on how to solve the problems with the new missal. Without thinking of a more diplomatic answer I said "a match." He labeled me as a crazy and I was stopped right there from going into a NO seminary (Thank God!).
I have at times Moronikos, financially supported the Legion of Doom (Legion of Christ), the SSPV, the CMRI, the FSSP, the SSPX, the SSJC, and numerous independent chapels not to mention both "Pope Pius XIII" and "Pope Michael I". The SSPX seminarian that I gave regular support to was a personal friend who had fled the Novus Ordites. He is currently in the process of leaving the SSPX for an independent (a decidely sedevacantist one) chapel. I can see where one could make the mistake of thinking I was an SSPXer, but I was not one.
