HIEROMONK AVERKY: HOLY TRINITY MONASTERY

My spiritual father Hieromonk Averky who is a monk at Holy Trinity, who is a diabetic has stoped his medical treatment, and will sadly soon repose in the Lord. I talked to him today on the phone, and this will probley be the last time I will talk to him again. I ask your prayers, for him. He is the reason I have become Orthodox and I will miss him very much.

Maybe this is a stupid question, but why did he stop his medical treatment?

He stoped his dialesis, because he is always in so much pain and it was only a matter of time.

This is very sad news indeed. Fr. Averky more than once set me straight when I had got far astray, helping me to again at least be able to see (if not totally travel on) the royal path. He will be in our prayers.

I am very sorry to hear that. Father Averky has also been a great help to me and a few others very close to me. I hope that he will live for a long time by some miracle as he is a great help to many people and a precious monk.
May God grant him many years.
