Will you be laughing when you get stuck in the toll houses for pride? 8)

It doesn't matter if I am a Buddhist, Hindu, Catholic, Witch Doctor, or animist, that doesn't affect the fact that you are not Orthodox!

Besides, like I said, I am on the way to Orthodoxy anyway so I'm not really offended when you call me a papist.

Only pride can be insulted.

It is God's providence that things are revealed to us so that we can beg forgiveness providing we are willing to do so. If we don't, then it is revealed to safegaurd others.

Certain calamadies which afflict our soul can escape the notice of everyone, but most of all, it escapes the notice of it's victim unless he is allowed to fall into temptations that put his soul to the test and allow him to recognize his own ignorance and weakness.

This is one great reason why we must love our enemies and those who work against us, because they more than anyone show us faults when we refuse to recognize them ourselves. They tear us down when we do nothing but try to build ourselves up.

And I especially appreciate when people accuse me of not being Orthodox, but most of all, when they really present a case. Without such spiritual challenges I might grow comfortable, or perhaps I forgot to uncover something hidden. Lord, bless my enemies!

I mentioned Seraphim's post earlier, but I forgot to mention Orthodoxy or Death's! I'd like to see the responses to either poster's arguments/questions/thoughts :)

I agree with some of Orthodoxyordeath's comments. One thing is that enemies can slander us and make-up allegations that are outright lies about us. So I don't necessarily think that everything that comes from the mouth of our enemies is always beneficial to our souls. An outright lie about me does not benefit me spiritually

That outright lie should be teaching you humility, maybe a little patience (as in to wait for the truth to reveal itself) and perhaps point to the need for an examination within yourself to discover why something was said about you in the first place.

OOD,

I've always respected your Church and think you are Orthodox. Juliana's Church, however, is run by a deposed bishop who later was convicted of molesting a child so I can't consider that in any way Orthodox. And Juliana, I'm aware of Mr. Valentine's attempts to defend himself from the charges on his website but he just makes himself look like a fool and more guilty.
