Have to be honest

Post by ttomm1946 »

Hi

I('m new here but i'm always blunt and as a covert sometimes i get my heresies mixed up so i just have to call what i see as truly anti christian..so many people worry about the quality of tv and movies....i see some discussion of the dangers of Harry Potter and fantasy games..

Well we all tend to watch what we watch, read, and play but to me the most dangerous heresies are in the guise of things that are generally accepted, even by a lot of Orthodox christians.......especially secular spirituality and 12 step programs........been there and done that and quit the church when i was told all churches and religions are man made..

I will get flammed for this but i know what i'm talking about...I'm back after a 5 year hiatus from the true church......i was actually told by not accepting 12 step philosophy i was not a true christian...this was on an orthodox messege board....i almost bailed out of the church again.....

AA's big book says the "spiritual path is broad and all inclusive.".....I guess that negates what Jesus said about....."narrow is the way and broad is the path to destruction."............

Modern pop spiritual movements are a lot more dangerous than any Harry Potter book or movie.....

Hi Tomm,
I have a good article called "The Orthodox Christian at the Doctors." While I don't think it mentions 12-step programs specifically, it's really good about cautioning people regarding "new age" type therapies. It's readily available online.

Here it is: http://www.pomog.org/index.html?http:// ... doctor.htm

I hope this link is still good. The article was written by someone at my church, and it's been on the website forever, but of course, it's suddenly disapeared!

One of these should work.
