Some see Virgin Mary in underpass stain

The resting place of threads that were very valid in 2004, but not so much in 2024. Basically this is a giant historical archive.

This was on the news ALL morning. I cannot believe these people...they have no idea who/what they are worshipping, yet people keep on flocking to this underpass. Very scary.

They are starving ... they are searching for the Lord.

I used to be RC. When the Mass was demystified into the NO Mass (Novus Ordo or Nervous Ordeal) then I almost lost my faith and I went searching for the sacred. I found the sacred in the Holy Orthodox Church.

One priest said that many Roman Catholics are searching after miracles and they travel to Medjugorie and other places far away places in search for the sacred. They are in a void and we must pray for them. They are orphaned and we must offer them a new home.

But we must do so gently or they can totally lose their way and become atheists or agnostics.

Lovingly in Christ,
Maria

Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me a sinner.

That reminds me of a story.... A Russian Orthodox priest would pay special yearly visits to my grandparents when they lived in Morocco ( about 30-40 years ago). I don't know his name but he was very lively and would tell them many interesting stories...(so I have been told)

Anyway, one story was about the "miracle" at Lourdres. My Grandmother somehow brought up the topic and the priest told them that he went to Lourdes when it first drew interest. After his visit to this place he sat in a cafe nearby where he met, by chance, an Anglican minister who was also visiting this "miraculous" place. They began to chatting about the hoopla-la and both noted all of crutches and canes that lined the road to the "miracle"... but the most interesting things that lined the road were the wooden legs and arms. The appendages must have been added for good measure since there were no reports of ARMS and LEGS instantly growing back. The Orthodox priest said that he went back the next day and the wooden body parts were gone. Someone must have overheard them and remedied the situation ;)

I think the point of the story is that people are so hungry for the Lord that they buy anything and overlook obvious trickery. :ohvey:

"Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, and today, and for ever." ( Heb.13:8 )
