Communion

Post by melk »

I have a basic question. When I was an infant I was baptised into the Orthodox Church, but my family fell away when I was still very young, so I was not brought up in the Church so much. So I was wondering what needs to happen to be communicated within the Church.

Also when I go back is there anything that I should know so that I don't make a complete fool of myself?

Thank you

Christ is Risen!

If you've participated in a catholic or other non-Orthodox church function, then I think the priest would want to re-chrismate you, since you are coming back from outside the True Church of Christ.

As far as what you should do....if you know anybody that goes to church, then you should go with them and they can show you the ropes.

Or if you don't know anyone, you can ask someone in the church. Don't be shy. They will appreciate your concern for wanting to know what to do.
