Putin

The resting place of threads that were very valid in 2004, but not so much in 2024. Basically this is a giant historical archive.

Yeah, that's the most uninformed thing I've seen on this forum, and we've all seen many.

I am sure Fr. Siluan is happy that his most "uninformed thing" is puny and incredibly insignificant compared to the things we see "priests" and "bishops" doing outside the forum. What a shame people accept this, and not only accept it, but make themselves a part of it, and gladly so. And because they are a part of it, they cannot bear the truth about it. This is why Christ was crucified and why we see truth being crucified all over again.

I have no idea what you're talking about.

Or maybe his post was less intelligible than yours (excluding this one, of course). It seems the quality of this forum disappeared with the former rocor title.

For what it is worth I am completely confused as well.

From what I can tell Father Siluan reposted a post by Olga Mitrenina from another forum. In the translation from Russian to English to Spanish and back to English whatever humor was existent in the first place was gone.

For the record I think that Olga's assertions on that forum were wrong and that there is not a complete anti-Semite of even anti-Jew POV in the Immegres in ROCOR. \/

I think members of ROCOR had every reason to be offended by this post. Father Siluan's English skills not being the greatest and coming from a different culture than many of us, it can cause misunderstandings but of course when we may have wronged and caused scandal it is best to apologize and ask forgiveness. So I am glad he did so.

It is amazing that Putin would do such a thing, but still he is a layman and for all we know he was informed of this being wrong for an Orthodox person to do and has confessed it.

Dear Father Nikolai:

I agree with your opinion.

as for

I think that the presence of Putin is very important in the union ROCOR-MP. Because this union has become a very importan state politics in the last years in Russia.

I have seen that many leaders to go to Israel and many of them from countries with a near thought to Judaism but none of them put on a Kipa in their head. The strange thing (well, it is not we strange to you and me) is that a President of a supposed orthodox country has such a thing.

Forgive me Father, but again you are misinformed. Every Leader who has visited Israel and visited a jewish holy site has donned a kipa. A search of news sites will show you pictures of a number of American Presidents as well as other world leaders. I'm sure that most only viewed it as a sign of respect to the faith of the country and it's people. Not much different from the Orthodox requirement to uncover your head upon entering a church.

I think ultimately we read too much into such gestures. It is all meaningless. What counts is in the heart and how many of us know what is in the heart of another.
