Did Christ Laugh since laughter is a worldly passion?

Laughter can also be an expression of joy, Happiness. Have none of you experienced this? If you have, do you mean to say that you have given to sin by doing so, and never expressed joy by doing so? There are different forms of laughter. Yes, you can laugh at someone, and you can laugh with someone out of joy.

I believe that our Lord could have laughed and did so without expressing it via Passion as you state. Could not Thy Passionless Passion be an expression of such laughter by Christ God Himself?

Sorry for going back to the beginning of this thread ... but I wanted to make a comment here.

Yes, there are different types of laughter.

We can laugh at ourselves when we make a stupid innocent mistake that doesn't offend anyone. Wouldn't that fall under humility?

For example, once when I was really tired, I went into another room to obtain something, then I forget why I walked into that room. (I'm showing my age now.) So, I left that room and went back to where I had been originally. Immediately I realized what I had intended to do, so I once again attempted to retrieve that object, but I again forget. So, this time, I wrote the name of that object on a piece of paper, but I was distracted by a phone call and misplaced that paper. What should I do, cry? I laughed at my myself. Why cry over spilt milk?

Another question:

Since Christ is God, then he knew what to expect .... therefore the surprise that causes laughter wouldn't have the same effect on him, would it?

I can envision Christ our God smiling slightly when someone finally got the point. Zaccheus climbing that tree must have been a funny sight. And the paralytic coming down from the roof, perhaps it wasn't a funny sight for the owner of the house, but then he knew that he was in for a new roof! St. Peter acknowledging that Christ is God, probably got a gentle smile from Christ's lips and a nod of Christ's head, but a belly laugh? No.

Jesus was fully human and His divinity did not interfere or impede His human-ness. I trust that He was just like you and I in our humanity.

Maybe he laughed; but maybe he conveyed humor and joy in other ways. I could believe that too. The Gospels omit many details of His life, and for good reason.

Personally, I consider laughter okay, as long as it is not frivolous. NLOL (not laughing out loud).

Similiarly, but perhaps not exactly, we cannot say Christ ate meat. Meat is associated with the passions, and even though Christ was among the people and in the world, he was still the perfect "monk". I don't believe Christ ever ate meat.

A question on the foregoing: Did Christ not eat the yearly Paschal lamb even as the Law required? Did he not perfectly fulfill the Law?

This thread has once more reminded me of the frivolity of my laughter, and I'm very thankful for that.
