The reason the canon for no crosses on floors was so no one would be stepping on it. If I have a cup or every day item with a cross on it then it helps me to always be focused on God. As for a on the bridges an buildings as a prayer to God to protect those, why not on people too?
Is this forum orthodox traditionnalist or capitalist?
I have heard of someone selling welcome mats for wiping your feet on that are decorated with the cross - this is absolutely appalling to me. However, the cafe is not selling anything that puts the cross on the ground. I do agree that we need to treat the cross with great respect. I was taught that you never put a cross or icon someplace you sit, ie. on a chair, or someplace unclean, in a bathroom for instance. In the case of the cafe's merchandise I think this is more the responsibility of the purchaser than the seller.
I have no problem with corsses on flags, walls, paintings and dresses. But to have it on small teddy bears and coffe cups or stickers is sooo american (I apologize for this but I must say it) and decadent.
Exact science must presently fall upon its own keen sword...from Skepsis there is a path to "second religiousness," which is the sequel and not the preface of the Culture.

Jean-Serge,
Je suis d'accord avec vous.
The Cross is the greatest Sacred symbol of God. And we must be careful how we display It. Who here would take a picture of their loved one,who has died, (in order to make it a more sensitive issue) and throw it in the garbage because it was on a mug and the mug broke? So much more should the Cross be considered.
And when the t-shirt is old and worn out, isn't it thrown in the garbage or used as a rag? How can we do that when the Cross is on it?
I have seen women wearing earrings that are Crosses. It has become an accessory.
No. This is not right.
The secular world doesn't understand the spiritual mystery of the Cross and the power It holds.
Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. (Ps. 50)
