It seems odd to me, though, that the first two horrible occurences eliminated first a third of France, and then a third of Europe, whereas September eleventh, in the grand scheme, only suffered the murder of a relative handful of Americans (dear God have mercy on them!), so it seems that there should have been more relevance to this, something a little more catastrophic, perhaps. I don't mean to trivialize the murder of 3000 people, I'm just saying that in light of a third of a nation or continent, it's got a lot ot live up to as a predicted thing.

September 11th, though granted did not wipe out a 1/3 of anything, could quite possibly be the heralding of more tragedy to come. The US got rid of the Taliban, which is good, but now it's rolling on, first was Iraq, where still no WMD have been found (though I'm not condoning Saddam, he was/is an evil man), next it looks like Syria or Iran. Though it's not happening over night, it's quite possible that many many many thousands will die because of the tragic events on 9/11. Who knows, maybe this time it will be 1/3rd of the world population, not just 1/3rd of a country or continent.
Man, now that I've had all these morbid thoughts, lets pray their just wandering fancy on my part & never come into reality.
The story of the icon is facinating, the article has inspired me to do some investigating on my own about it!
