Military Draft Issue on Tuesday

The resting place of threads that were very valid in 2004, but not so much in 2024. Basically this is a giant historical archive.

Rangles is a nut and the bill will not pass. The reason he is proposing it is to call attention to the war and how we are undermanned and "desperate the situation" is. Then he proposes how he and his demo[n]crat buddies would handle it differently as a sounding board to get us out of this mess. The (re)publicans will never let it pass.

The more idiotic the bill is, the more publicity he gets and that is the point.

Since this kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our God and of His Christ, the NWO took over in 1776 - that is why it is called "Novus Ordo Seclorem."

That is why we live republics and democracies - because the wicked one looses control in any autocracy because the Word is inevitable. So he puts off the inevitable re-introducing pagan democracies and republics.
Athens and Rome were eventual failures, just as America is now becoming a failure and for the same reasons.

Look at history since all this began. Per capita far more wars and destruction than during even the worst of the crusades. In America today our incarceration rate is greater than that of the Soviet Gulag - we hide our problems in mental institutions and prisons, and are far worse off morally than ever before. And our material wealth is an illusion that will soon end if we keep electing these people to high office. Its inevitable corruption.

You got to be EXAGERATION, the Soviets had 10 Million in Prison, we have 2/3 Million.

Yes it was wrong to imply the incarceration rate worse than the Soviet Gulag - however it was higher than at the end of the Soviet era (and I thoughtlessly interchanged Gulag and era). Some sources claim Russia is higher today, but others show it is lower than the US, and that only Rwanda rivels the US! Wow, that is telling.

So I do not know whether this includes mental health or not and if there is some confusion on the statistics.

The point is however our secular nation is falling apart just as the Soviet system fell apart and for the same basic reason. Without Christ we can do nothing.

I don't know the results of this bill, but it will never be passed. If anyone has a brain in the government they would know that taking out the prime age group of the working force for military would kill our economy. Besides that, we would have a military of like 10-20 million (more probably) if 18-42 were drafted. That's more than the Soviets ever had as far as I can recall from what I've read. We would make a lot of enemies with an army that big.

The American draft is instituted as a lottery, so out of the 10-20 million potential, only a few would be called up.

I believe that US armed forces were near 10 million during WWII but there is no need for such a large force today.
