The way of life: My child, keep clear of every evil person and all who are like them. Do not be quick tempered, since anger leads to murder. And do not be jealous, or argumentative, or get too heated about things, for all these lead to murder.
Do not use obscene words, or let your eyes wonder, since all these lead to adultery. My child, do not tell lies, for lying leads to theft. Do not be boastful or too fond of money, since all these things lead to theft. Do not grumble my child, since this leads to blasphemy, and do not be stubborn or think evil, for all these things lead to blasphemy.
Be meek rather, for the meek shall inherit the earth. Be patient, merciful, innocent, quiet, good and full of respect for the words you have heard. Do not exalt yourself or become arrogant. Do not associate with the high and mighty, but keep the company of those who are honest and humble.
Accept that what befalls you is good in the knowledge that nothings happens without God. Do not hesitate to give, and do not grumble as you are giving. Own up to your sins and failings and avoid coming to your prayer with a bad conscience. This is the way of life.
