A New ROCOR Icon of Blessed Seraphim (Rose)

Post by Грешник »

It seems that according to Hieromonk Lawrence of Blessed Seraphim Hermatige in CA, an icon of Blessed Seraphim Rose, Hieromonk of Platina has been written and was shown at the Diocesan Headquarters of Sydney, Australia and New Zealand under Archbishop Hilarion of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia. I think I want a copy of this.

And for the record, here is the original Italian icon...

Given that it has been almost 25 years since Fr. Seraphim Rose died, and many of the people that he talked to have also already died, isn't it a bit of a stretch (or maybe just ironic) to glorify him with his (false) belief that "It's later than you think!" As a matter of fact (I mean that literally, not just as a saying), it was not later than he thought. There was apparently a lot more time than he thought. A more accurate summation of Fr. Seraphim's thoughts on eschatology (or the apostasy) would be: "We've got a lot more time than I thought!" But hey, St. Paul, Maximos the Confessor, and the martyrs of Russia were all wrong about the end being soon, so at least he's in pretty good company.

So define "soon" and "later" in God's terms....

The people that knew Fr.Seraphim Rose of blessed memory arent dead, there many Priests in both Rocie and Rocor thruout the world that are still alive and in there mid 40s to early 50s and younger and older aswell- Remember he reposed in 1982, many of the 40-50 year old Priests were 20s and 30s during the late 70s...
But they are still collecting Miracles by Fr.Seraphim Rose...
I think Vladykon Tikhon of san Francisco who
s Relics are incorrupt at Jordanville and gushing myrrhh will be glorified first...

First, and Last, and Always
in CHRIST
