Yes, Petrus Romanus is finally here. Pope Peter the Second from Rome!

It is just Pope Francis of Buenas Aires, Argentina. And none of his secular names include peter either. So that kills that fake papist prophecy.

Finally, after 800 years we can all officially chuck that into the trash bin of failed heterdox end of the world prophecies.

Didn't that prophecy say the LAST Pope would be called Peter? How do we know this is the last Pope?

It isn't the last Pope. The whole prophecy was a fake.

People who believe it to be true think this was to be the last one because the verses ran out with today's election, and teh verses say it is the last one.

Well, I have to tell you, Symeon, that some folks do believe that this current pope fulfills the Peter the Roman prophecy of Malachy.

(1) Pope Francis I parents are from Italy and of Italian descent, i.e., Roman.

(2) Pope Francis I believes in the charismatic renewal and practices poverty, and in that spirit, he believes he is the New Peter: See Acts 3:6-9 (NKJV). Orthodox Study Bible, Thomas Nelson Publishers, 2008.

• Then Peter said, "Silver and gold I do not have,
  But what I do have I give you:
  In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth
  Rise up and walk."
