Ooh! I must get a door portico!
Icon Corners!
We took some pictures of our (temporary) icon corner, but unfortunately none of them came out since the room was (apparently) too dark. The most I can do is write out what we have there at the moment. There are icons on a tall, thin table by the wall, and then some on a shorter, fatter table that is in front of the tall one; and then of course there are some icons on the wall(s). (Please forgive me if I don't get the names right here)
Tall table: Nativity of Christ (a wedding gift from Mary's God Mother); Theotokos and Child; Gregory the Theologian; Saint Julianna of Lazarevo (on Photopaper); Christ and Theotokos (with Christ) Ditpych; Cross, candles, prayer ropes, etc.
Short table: Alexis Toth; Great Martyr George; (3 Icon Set) Theotokos and Child, Christ Enthroned, and Christ our God; John of San Francisco; Justin Popovich (on Photopaper -- with some things such as candle wax from Saint Justin's grace, a thread from his prayer rope, etc., which was graciously given to me by Nicholas' God Father); Mary of Egypt.
On wall(s): Saint Anna and the Theotokos child; Theotokos with Christ; Western style crucifix; Theotokos with Christ; Sophia and her 3 children; Guardian angel; Cecilia
Our main focus for the rest of the year will be North American Saints and a hand painted/drawn icon of Saint Justin Popovich.
My "Corner"
I am the only Orthodox Christian in my family. My 16-year old daughter is pretty hostile about my conversion. They all attend an evangelical church, the same one I used to attend myself for 18 years.
So.... I really can't have an icon corner in the main part of the house without alienating my daughter further. I have my icon corner out in my little office which is a small room built into the garage. I have a desk for my computer (where I am now) and another desk for my icon corner. On the wall I have an icon of Christ, the Theotokos and my saint, Xenia of St. Petersburg. On the desk I have a Russian icon of Christ and some angels that comes from Russia. I have an icon of Fr. Seraphim Rose which is a picture downloaded from the internet and printed out onto photo paper and framed. Ditto for an icon of the Holy Apostles. I don't know if these count as "real" icons but I treat them as such. I love them.
Also on the desk I have an incense burner, my little bottle of holy water, all the flowers given out on various occasions at church, a glass cross in a holder from Greece, which is a present from my godmother, a pair of candlesticks, and my prayerbook, also downloaded from the internet. Also my Bible. I keep my prayer rope there sometimes, but I usually keep it on my person or in my purse. My icons all face East, but that has more to do with the arrangement of the room than design on my part.
In the desk drawer I keep charcoal, incense, matches, spare candles, and all the bulletins from church, which have icons on the front and an explanation on the back.
I want to venerate local (California) saints and ordered St. John M. from Concilliar Press in Ben Lomond and they are all out and don't know when they'll be making more! All out of St. John! Sheesh!

Here is our icon corner (my wife and mine). I feel that our wedding icons are especially beautiful. My parents had a very talented Bulgarian man paint them for us and I feel so blessed to have such beuitiful ones.
