Has the name technically changed?
I know many people speak of SCOBA as "Standing Conference of Canonical Bishops in America" (and that is certainly the attitude of many SCOBA folks), but has that name change become official?
The whole "who is canonical" issue is an interesting one, deserving it's own discussion. Suffice it to say, what most people mean by "canonical" these days, is simply an oriental variant of papal ecclessiology - not that such a phenomenon amongst Orthodox Christians is new (keeping in mind the whole notion of "pentarchy" which to some extent was simply just a reactionary aping of papist ecclessiologyto assert independence - though there was of course a legit, canonical form of "Pentarchy" at one point, which existed to give the Church some order), but now it's in earnest (along with a certain Patriarchate that'll remain the EP, trying to pass itself off as the Byzantine "Pope".)
I find it odd that new calendarists speak of being "canonical", when they are the worst offenders of canonical order.
