News of the disputed church in Cannes
TV Soyuz has a video about Archangel Michael Church in Cannes.
The church just voted in May to be part of the Russian Orthodox Exarchate (part of the Constantinople Patriarchate). Previously they were under ROCOR-A (Met Agafangel) and prior to that RTOC and ROCOR.

The Church of Archangel Michael in Cannes was origianlly with RTOC. When their Bisop Irineos moved to ROCOR(A) in 2006, the parish went with him. Moscow Patriarchate seized the building of that church shortly begfore that (the church was built in 1893). So the parish had legal proceedings for 6 years to get the building back. The court stated to return the building from Moscow Patriarchate to the parish in February 2012. But on May 22, 2014, the parish voted to go to Ecumenical Partiarchate. 11 memeber of the parish council voted for this decision, 7 were against it and 1 was neutral. They got disappointed in Met Agathangelos and his group.

I recalled that the Church was originally under RTOC. But I hadn't understood HOW they ended up with Roca - Rocor {A}.

The MP had ensared it, and the parish only barely became free from the MP when it voted on the Feast of the Translation of St Nicholas Relics to join the EP ! That means under the successor of reposed Archbishop Gabriel of Comana in Paris. Hmm.
Alexander asserts they were not happy with Met Agafangel's overseeing of their parish.
I wonder why ? Perhaps no Roca Bishops made pastoral visits to Archangel Michael parish ?
I wonder who the 11 parish council members were. It's scary that a parish could be hijacked easily.

The church in question has a more agitated story. It was the one of the famous Barnabas of Cannes. He was the secret bishop who ordained Lazar of Odessa and Tambov. During the Lavre coup - Metropolitan Vitaly strange-forced-retirement and abduction, he did not join the Lavrists but stayed with Metropiltan Vitaly. After this, when Bishop Lazar of Odessa made the schism with ROCIE Vitaly, he supported Lazar.
Having second thoughts, he asked to come back to ROCOR-Lavre and the juridical fight with the other members of the parish started, some being anti-Moscow. The anti-Moscow group won and first joined RTOC that was, I guess, then headed still by Bishop Lazar. But when the Tikhonites officially adopted a stricter non-cyprianist eccelsiology, they switched to ROCOR- Agathangel.
Now they would be in Constantinople! I am going to see if I can have news.
