In 1924, every single monastery on Mount Athos stopped commemorating the Patriarch of Constantinople, except for Vatopedi. In 1927, an agreement was reached between the Holy Community of Mount Athos and the Phanar, whereby each monastery (except for Vatopedi), agreed to retain the Patristic Calendar while continuing to commemorate the Patriarch. Esphigmenou, however, continued to refrain from commemorating the Patriarch while still maintaining communion with the commemorators.
My question is, did this policy of not commemorating the Patriarch continue all the way from 1927 up until the 1970s, or did Esphigmenou start commemorating the Patriarch again, at some point during the interim?
