Nothing important

The resting place of threads that were very valid in 2004, but not so much in 2024. Basically this is a giant historical archive.

I and lots of others were wondering WHY ON EARTH in this clip Hakan Fidan was SO jovial with the Pakistani figures, Asim Munir, Ishaq Dar and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Possible explanation is below ?
The scene looked very unpleasant to me.

"Talk of being uncomfortable around hyenas - U.S. educated Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan is former MİT chief - and was “in charge of intel” during the failed July 15, 2016 coup in Türkiye - he knows where the bodies are buried and is considered America’s man - he retained his position despite grave grievances in Erdogan’s circle against alleged U.S. involvement in that event and the safe haven DC provided to the alleged mastermind Fetullah Gülen - despite this Hakan preserved his intel position and was in fact given to the Foreign Minister portfolio after Mevlüt Cavusoglu - and can now be seen “jokingly” ganging up around Field Marshal Asim - who seems visibly awkward and uncomfortable [Yes !]-
make what you will around this statement and the dynamic, but the ice is thin and the stakes now too high, especially for the usurper [Asim Munir] surrounded by such “reliable” characters"

"⚡- The anticipated Prime Minister of Iraq, Nouri Al-Maliki:

"Syria is now a country under Turkish and Israeli rule, and the government consists of terrorists who used to be imprisoned in Iraq.

Do you really believe these terrorists can properly govern an ethnically and religiously diverse country like Syria?""

On February 28, an exceptional planetary alignment makes Jupiter, Mars, Saturn, Venus, Mercury, and Neptune visible simultaneously. This phenomenon won't recur for decades. 🔭"

"🌌 Mark Your Calendars! February 28, 2026 🌌

A rare planetary alignment will light up the pre-dawn sky. Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune will appear along the same arc, following the ecliptic.

Venus will shine brightest, Mars glows red, and Jupiter and Saturn beam steadily. Uranus and Neptune will need binoculars or a small telescope to spot.

This is your chance to witness multiple worlds in a single sweeping view...

Look east before sunrise..."

"Sultana Begum, the widow of Mirza Bedar Bukht and great-granddaughter-in-law of the last Mughal Emperor, Bahadur Shah Zafar, currently resides in a humble slum in Howrah.

An upcoming documentary directed by Soumya Sengupta offers a poignant glimpse into her solitary struggle against the system as she seeks to reclaim her rights to her ancestral property - the Red Fort.

The documentary promises to be a moving narrative, capturing the resilience of an elderly woman caught in a lone battle to honor her lineage and secure her legacy. "

Comments :

"India calls the Mughals “invaders.”
History calls that a distortion.
Babur—a descendant of Timur and Genghis Khan—did not plunder and flee. He defeated a collapsing Delhi Sultanate and settled. That is not invasion. That is immigration followed by state-building.

Akbar was born in India.
Married an Indian.
Ruled as an Indian.
And created one of the most just, plural, and prosperous empires this land has ever known.

Jahangir strengthened the rule of law.
Shah Jahan gave India its most enduring beauty.
Yes, Aurangzeb overreached — but even his excesses cannot erase what the first six Mughals built: stability, trade, culture, and a golden age.
Then came 1857.
India lost the First War of Independence.
The British executed Mughal princes, exiled Bahadur Shah Zafar, and tried to erase an 800-year Timurid-Mongol legacy.
That was colonial brutality.
But why is India still continuing it?

If you can sell tickets to the Red Fort and the Taj Mahal,
you must also honor the family that built them — not leave Sultana Begum, Zafar’s descendant, in a Howrah slum.
You can’t celebrate Mughal monuments
and erase Mughal blood.
That isn’t history.
That is theft.

And yes — I am a Mughal.
Which means this story is not ancient to me.
It is unfinished."

"Had the Mughals aligned with the British, as many princely families did, they might have remained among the richest and most powerful royals in the world.

Instead, their resistance in 1857 led to the extinction of their lineage and the loss of all claims to wealth and sovereignty" - GOOD that they did NOT do that !
