Soviet Machinations, Green Party, and the NSA (split off)

Yes that horrible "peace movement" was just a front for KGB. And it was particularly well-organized
in Germany, near the Soviet Union, and filled with probably people with guilt pushed on them [rightly or wrongly]
for World War II. Hence good targets for the useful idiots of whom StephenS reminded us.

I also think that Petra Kelly's Green Party in Germany was very much backed by similar quarters in Moscow.

Notice how all the "Green" stuff became so mainstream and trendy in recent decades ?
One cannot necessarily link that to Soviet machinations. But it is something to contemplate.

Well - right after i wrote that, I see in the newer version of the article I posted in Miscellaneous,
that

"On Saturday, thousands of people in Berlin protested the NSA's alleged mass surveillance of Internet users. Many held placards with slogans such as "Stop watching us." "

So maybe rebellion or unrealistic pacifistic views turned to constructive criticism amongst Germans [and/or Europeans in general,
most of whose opinion is never mentioned in the American media. As though Europeans are lesser beings ... or simply don't count
in the schema of US/UK ruling circles. Only their tame "leaders" - puppets - are ever quoted. And that when they toe the party line.]
