Does anyone have information about this Greek World Orthodox eldress Makrina ?
She was the spiritual mother of the Abbess of the St John the Forerunner Monastery in Goldendale, Wash., GOA.
I had never heard of her. Checking some other news, I came across a reference to this.
There is a rather silly blog post about Orthodox film making being like candy :
"When I was five years old, I saved up some quarters in a jar and bought my mother a candy bar. My father, at the end of a long day at work, walked into the kitchen and saw the candy bar sitting on the counter. He proceeded (naturally) to eat it. My mother came in, saw that he had eaten it and told him that it was hers. I started to cry. I wanted them both to be able to eat the candy bar. This is why I began taking interest in filmmaking. A good film is like a candy that we all can eat and enjoy. Nobody has to be left out."

Surely, a more profound analogy could be found.
